*Prima & Faber Castell Hop Winner & Wrap Up*

Hi friends!
Happy Hump Day...

Today is the final Prima & Faber Castell wrap up on the Prima blog
& I thought I'd do the same on MY blog. Not to mention let you know
the winner of MY own personal Prima give-away.

First up, let me share my layout I did that's over on the Prima blog today:

I'm sure I've used this pic before - it's a must...one of  my faves of my handsome husband
and myself!

Here's a little diddy about my layout:

I decided to get bold & have FUN with Faber-Castell goodies on this page.
I used the Gesso as a background – to tone my bright paper down just a little bit.
Then I used a Prima brick mask & colored between the “mortar” with gelato’s.
I also used the gelato’s to color my resist canvas flowers, then used the artist
pen to blend it all together for a fun watercolor, artsy effect.

Some close up shots:

to see my supply list & the other girls projects up today - check out the Prima blog!

Now how about a winner?
would you believe my sweet friend Lea L. is my #57 winner!
(from random # generator)
Yay Lea! Just email me:  leslieashe(at)gmail(dot)com and I'll get your package ready!

Here's a few other projects I created using Prima & Faber Castell:

Have a great day, friends!
Back soon....

Oh wait...
wait for it, wait for it.....
funniest iPhone pic ever:

it's one of those you had to "be here to see it happen"
pics.
Subject:  Lilly (Pulitzer) Ashe
Crime:  Laughing at ME.
Reason:  well...said master (or grand master in my case?) was playing tug the giraffe with her.
I took it from her. Her lips FROZE on her teeth like that. How'd I get her to stay?
I just put her giraffe on my head and said..."stay Lilly."
She minds SO well.
Oh man...she's laughing because I look ridiculous with her toy on my head.
See? best iPhone picture ever.

*American Crafts May Projects*

Hi all! Happy Tuesday!

Just a quick post to share 2 new layouts I did
for American Crafts using the NEW gorgeous Shoreline:

First up is:  Taking It All In:

with a couple of close shots:

Here's Exploring:

and a few close up shots:

You HAVE to get this new Shoreline. It's GORGEOUS.
Plus it's not JUST for beach pics. Trust me,
I'm so not a "theme" girl - but I TOTALLY
LOVE this line.

These are all shots from our trip down south to South Padre Island, Texas, back in 2008.
Took us a while to get down there from the DFW area. We soaked it ALL up.

That's it for today...
have a great day!

*22 Years + a Prima scraplift*

Happy Friday, friends!
(before I begin my post, remember the Prima-Faber Castell blog hop below is open until May 30)

Not only is today Friday , but it's one unique Friday.
Today my sweet husband and I celebrate 22 years of marriage!

we've had our ups, downs, ins, outs and all things in between
and always bounce back right where we are...
like newlyweds!
seriously...
he's my partner in life, love and crime:
not crime really...just crazy times:
(as we wait for my friend Wendy to fly in from Vegas - we take silly photo's of us...well, what we can fit in a frame anyway  since he's so tall and i'm so short, ha!)

In honor of our special day, I'm sharing a couple of my favorite "us" layouts:

(note to self...scrap us in color!)

Today is also a "Friday Dose Of Scraplifts" over
at the Prima Blog!

Several of the DT girls have scraplifted each other & it's so FUN to see
everyone's work being interpreted in so many ways.
I'm up today with a few other of the girls.  I lifted the beautiful Stacey Young!

It was SO hard to pick just ONE of the gorgeous layouts that
Stacey does. She's so good at embellishing, at layering, well at all of it!
Here's her layout I scraplifted:

gorgeous, right?????
Here's my take on it:

(my sweet niece Presley is my model in this layout...)

to see everything I used & how I decided to lift this beautiful page of Stacey's..
check out the Prima blog today. While you're there, don't forget to see all the
other fabulous lifts!

Happy Friday...
I'm off to hang out with my Prince Charming.

*Prima & Faber Castell Blog Hop*

Is there anything better than two companies combining their amazing products?
Today I have a joint venture project by Prima Marketing and Faber-Castell!

Not only do their products work perfectly together,
but they provide wonderful platforms for inspiration and creativity!
Both of the design teams were challenged to create projects
combining products just for YOU!
Hopefully this will get your creativity going too.

I created this layout using a quote from a book I love called
"She" book by Kobi Yamada.
To remind myself that I can do whatever I set my mind out to do....

*Happy Birthday, Card Tutorial, & more...*

Hi everyone!
Sorry for the delay in posts, lots happening here at the Ashe house!
More later.
But first....the most important part of my today.
My handsome, sweet, loving, wonderful, talented, motivational, (the list goes on!)
husband turns a year older today!

<~~~~ here he is with his new baby.

And so I don't embarrass him by saying how "old" he is...(hee hee)
I'll just share a few of my favorite layouts, honoring him:
(what, I had to get us all in there somehow! ha!)
Love you TONS, hon....happy lotsa birthday's to you!

also, for today's post, I have a little card sketch
tutorial I did for Echo Park I want to share:

Here's the sketch I drew in pencil:
and, like my last sketch, I worked a TAD backwards.
I made my card, then drew my sketch. It's just how I work.

Here's a couple of close ups:
To see the entire post & what supplies I used,
go to the Echo Park Blog & check it out.

Here's my card:

Hope it inspires you today!

My last bit of news for the day...
(& the reason for my lack of blog posting)
the kids are HOME for the summer!

Savannah's off right this minute taking her last final at UNT
& yesterday we spent the ENTIRE day moving Shaypher back from Texas State.
My birds are all in their nest! For the summer anyway....
She'll be moving back to her college town in August,
He'll be moving back to his college town in August...
and the empty nest begins again.
::sigh:: but then again...::fist pump!::
Have a lovely day friends!
I'm off to be with my birthday boy!
xo
(p.s. I leave you with a glimpse at my little scrappin' buddy from the other night:)

*Studio Tour with Craft Storage Ideas*

Happy Wednesday everyone!

A few months ago I shared some photo's of my new studio
my sweet, handsome & talented husband helped me put together.
I can't even say how much I love my space.
I'm here in this room right now, looking around
and taking it in how blessed I am.
To have this space to call my own,
to be able to create here, to use a gift God so freely gave me.

I follow a FUN creative craft storage blog on my blog reader.
Craft Storage Ideas
Recently I received an email from them asking ME to share MY studio
with THEM!
I was so excited I could barely sit still.
I love my room. I can't say it enough! I've never been asked to share it before
so to me...this was a dream!
This is a little shot of my desk (::ahem. when it's clean::.)
To see my studio, the thoughts behind it, how I did it & to see
other creative studio's - check the post out right  HERE .

Thank you again Craft Storage Ideas -
this has been a THRILL for me!

Have a wonderful day, friends!
