**buttons & butterflies & besties...oh me.**

Hi everyone!
I hope you've had a wonderful weekend.
Ours was packed with lots of littles.
A little of this...a little of that....
but before I get into that, I have to show you something cute.
really REALLY cute.
check these out:

yummy right? I ADORE these buttons.
Tessa Ann is SOOOO talented.
These are JUMBO buttons. FUN!

She creates some of the most GORGEOUS buttons
and even other little fun cake toppers!
Check out her etsy right here:  Tessa Ann's Etsy.

It is Designer Monday so I got to create a little something
for Tessa Ann today using her Rasberry Vine buttons:

When I saw these buttons -- I just KNEW what they were
perfect for.
My girl's prom dress (on the left  - photo from 2009 prom)!
So put together with some butterflies (totally on a butterfly kick lately),
a new die from Tim Holtz (filmstrip) using my new Big Shot (L♥VE!),
lots of Jenni B (♥♥♥!!!), October Afternoon (♥♥♥!!!) a
some chipboard and this is what ya get.

Closeup of Tessa Ann's buttons:

Friday I took the girl (and her bestie above!) down to Waco
to check out her new condo she'll be moving into come August...
it's so pretty! Perfect for her. She'll be rooming with a lovely
young girl...they'll make the greatest of friends. I can totally tell.

Hubs and I watched an interesting and good movie from VOD:

wasn't prepared for the ending. I really liked this movie.
Very REAL.  It makes you think.

and I've just finished this:

One of THE best books I've read in a LONG time.
Powerful, makes you empty a box of kleenex & feel like
 you are THERE. Excellent author.

decided it's time for a funny one, so this is what's next:

That's all I have for today.
Sure hope your day is full of sunshine...
(we're under a flash flood right now.)

**June is brought to you by the Back Yard**

Afterall it's June & you know what that means, right?
It means it's HOT!
{::ugh::}It's so hot & sticky and hot and stick & hotandsticky
here in Texas....(and it's only June? UGH!)
But it's nothing that being in the backyard, going for
a dip in the pool won't cure, right?
Bring it on summer...backyard here I come!

Speaking of backyard...
that happens to be part of  the name of
The Girls Loft  June kit!
I'm excited to get to show you what I did with
"Backyard Bunch":

--my 3 Loves. I let my hubby come up with this title...I thought it was
so cute! I had to use it....
this photo is right before my sweet boy graduated high school.
I used lots of paint & Shimmerz here...this was a FUN layout to do!
This kit is PACKED with gorgeous colors & elements.

Here's another layout:

my pretty girl -- perfect title for a perfect day...

while browsing through Joann's last week...
I found these TINY little 3x3 canvases and had to use
them with the papers from this kit:

I used  my brand new Cuttlebug butterfly dies & embossing
folders-- I LOVE those things!!
I also used some brand new Fiskars butterfly
punches I let myself buy.
(like that..."let myself?" - LOL)
So a little paint, shimmerz and butterflies led to that
creation that's going on one of my bathroom walls.
Here's some closer shots:

hope you like! was SO NICE of all of you
to post such sweet words to me
about me being real...
I loved doing that!
I have so much more I could say...
but I wouldn't want to bore anyone.
Thank you for reading all of that...
I enjoy getting to know my readers (what few I have, LOL!)
Hugs to ALL of you!

That's all I have to share today...
thank you for allowing me to do so!
I hope you have a lovely day
and can stay nice and cool
in this heat...

*Be Inspired...Be Real*

thank you for stopping by my blog today.
I hope you are having a beautiful day.

I have something fun to show you!

Inspired Blueprints - a FABULOUS sketch blog-
asked me to be their guest for challenge #50.
What an HONOR!! I loved playing along.  I love their sketches!
Thank you Inspired Blueprints for having me!

here's what sketch #50 looks like:
and this is my interpretation of the sketch:
I just got some of the new Claudine Helmuth paints
at GASC a couple of weeks ago & it was sitting on my desk
- just ready for me to use it...
what a fab opportunity to do that!

Along with the beautiful tiny Melissa Frances frames -
Jenni B (my FAVE!) papers, rub ons,
Maya Road star pins
October Afternoon(another FAVE!),
some May Arts ribbon,
& a quote from a postcard I LOVE -

put that all together with that cute photo of my sweet boy --
(photography by Andie Smith --
and you get my layout..

how about some closer shots:
I'm so glad I got to share that with you!

remember me talking about being real?
Like I said...
I pretty much think...I'm as real as real can get here.
I mean..if I were any more real I'd be standing next to you.
no *froof* allowed....
here's some things that are real about me that you may not know
(and may be wishing you didn't now, LOL!)
I'm me.
I'm super goofy.
(remember that one time I ran like Napolean because
neighbors saw me dancing while I was walking?
NO? you

take me like I am. I am what I am -

I'm a child of God.
I may not be the best Christian -
but I strive to be that girl - every day.

I worry way WAY too much sometimes.
I wonder "why" too much.
I wonder, "what have I done" too much.
get the picture? I wonder...entirely too much.
I'm like...Leslie. In Wonderland.

But no, seriously....
It's hard to remember to give it all to Him...
Sometimes it seems easier  to sit, ponder, dwell in it all...
it's like human powers can make it all better - find an answer.
I have to hand it over - and trust.
Which I do. I'm trying.
anways...moving on...

My bed is only made if I have company coming.
I HATE to vaccuum (but do it anyway...whistling while I work)
but love to do laundry (it's got to be the new washer and!)
Clutter is a big annoyance of mine.
I'm becoming a better organizer...
wait, do those 2 sentences even match?

I have a little OCD.
just a little.
why I have to turn my alarm on 3 times in a row I'll never get.
yep, that's it, comfort.

Closet doors MUST be shut before I go to bed.
I have NO idea why - I've never been frightened as a child --
I just don't like them open at night.
My closet is always closed.
hubby's closet is in the bathroom.
if it's late at night - and it's not closed - and it's a midnight potty break..
then I run like a mad woman to my bed after snapping them off
(oh and shutting that door)

I love to laugh. really - really laugh.
a good belly laugh. you know the kind...
the kind of laugh you think you tinkled -- but realized you haven't.
(and say a silent..."thank you")
THAT's the best!

I'm not afraid to admit I have 4 pups and I strive to make sure
my home never smells like them.
I would have 34837387387387383 more if I could - I'm an animal
girl...I've rescued all 4 of mine and would rescue the world if I could.
I cry at every ASPCA or any animal commercial.
I do. I'll admit it.

is it bad to admit that I think I *just might* enjoy this new empty nest thing?
*ahem* did I say that one out loud?

I've been married to the love of my life for 20 years and one month today.
He's not only my rock of Ashe-bralter (like rock of Gibraltor, LOL)
he's more the love of my life today than the very first time we said those magical words.
not to mention I think he's

I've had the best life. In all my 41 years I've never felt more blessed
to be raised by the most loving, understanding, gentle but stern & kind
God fearing parents in ALL of the world.
God blessed me...that's for SURE.
My childhood is full of the most beautiful memories.
Wonderful traditions too.
Ones I've been able to pass down to my own children.

I value my friends. I hold them dear.
No matter what - a friend is a friend forever.
I believe the golden rule -
"make new friends, but keep the is silver, the other gold."
amen. I love you all...

I could go on and on...
but something else real about me is...
as many times as I've been hurt (friendships, relationships, jobs, etc...)
I know how to bounce back and be colorful again.
Life is wonderful--
and I can do ALL things thru Christ who strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)

now if you've read THIS far -
you're a DEAR dear person...thank you.
if not..I totally understand.
sometimes I can be long winded...
(another real fact about me, LOL)

thank you again for stopping by my blog today.
I hope your day is truly blessed and wonderful!

**The Girls Loft - June sneaks**

have you SEEN the June kit from The Girls Loft?
You have to go check it out:  The Girls Loft June kit.

The colors are yummy!
I did a few fun things...
made 2 layouts
and a little crafty thing with canvases (also using LOTS of Shimmerz!)
for my bathroom....
So. let me show you a few sneaks:

I hope you enjoy!
Can't wait for you to have this month's kit in your hands!!

So have you seen the posts lately about people being "real?" on their blogs?
I'm going to have to buckle down and get real here.
Although, I do think I am pretty real...
but I could say a few more things.
It's like I needed the push.
the courage...ya know? looking for that soon.
I also have something super fun to show you any day now --
a special "guest" appearance I was asked to honored to do it.
I love how it turned out. ALOT!

I finished this:

without giving it away...I just have to say...I LOVED IT.
She's a great writer...I didn't want it to end.

A few days ago I started this one:

it was good too! sad...but sweet too. a must read.
I finished it yesterday.

I had to go pick THIS one up yesterday...
(only because she's my FAVE ever..)

I'm starting it tonight after we watch this:

my family thought I was goofy when I pointed out my book and movie
I got yesterday are the same colors...ha!

that's it for me today...
hope you have a great one!
be back soon...
with some of the "real" me.

I had a little extra time for me the other day
so what better way to spend that quality time
than with my scrappy desk and new supplies
just itchin' to be used....

I sat down and did JUST that...
New Jenni B. in my hands....
cute pic of my kiddo's.
(yes, that was used on my Christmas cards)
led to this:

I fell in LOVE with those silver doilies that I found on clearance
at Michael's the other day. I had to use one. Ok, 2. LOL.
I like how this turned out.
I'm a butterfly girl. I decided that the butterflies represent
my kiddo's in the fact that now, come August...they're BOTH flying
off to more adventures, ones of their own.
Savannah in her 2nd  year at Baylor University,
yet her first time living off campus with friends...
Shaypher going to his first year at Hardin Simmons University.
(and living in dorms...which will be a whole new way of life for him, LOL!) sappies...
here's some closeups:

thank you Jenni B for making the cutest rub ons ever.
stickers too.
oh and paper.
buttons, blings...
and butteflies. can't forget those!
I have ALWAYS been a Jenni B. fan.
Love love LOVE her!
another couple of closeups:

I hope you're having a wonderful day...
I'll be back in a few with a fun guest spot creation....
